Special Education Evaluator

Our district has adopted the Special Education Evaluator model.  The Special Education Evaluator is the initial contact for parents whose child has been referred to the Special Education team for evaluation consideration.  The evaluator schedules an initial meeting with parents and facilitates the development of an evaluation plan.  Working in collaboration with parents and agencies, the evaluator identifies the strengths and needs of the child being evaluated.  She collects evaluation and observation data by completing both formal and informal academic and related testing.  Along with the School Psychologist and related services, the evaluator composes a comprehension evaluation report for parents and teachers.  She interprets and presents this information to parents at a follow-up meeting.
